MAC Twig Lipstick

Swatches & Review

My boyfriend gave me MAC's lipstick in Twig as a birthday gift over a month ago. I have been wanting it, but since he gave it to me, I have never used it until today. Twig is a deep berry shade to me. It is kind of in between pink & cranberry for me, and it has a Satin finish. Since it has a Satin finish, it is pretty much like a semi-matte, with a little bit of shine, but it is not too visible. Although it is similar to matte, it is not as drying as matte finishes are, but it can be a bit drying after a while of wearing it.
Overall, I really like this lipstick. I feel like it compliments my skin tone well without me looking like a clown, and my mom actually does not make fun of me when I'm wearing this! Usually when I'm wearing a lipstick that seems too overbearing for me, my mom makes fum of it, but she actually likes this one on me. It's not too dark, and not too light, just the way I like it. I also feel like this stays on well for me. Usually when I wear lipsticks, it wears off on me quickly without leaving any stain behind. However, Twig wears about a good 4 hours on me and after it fades off, you can still see the stain it left behind that doesn't look bad either. I guess the only complaint I have is the smell, but that's how I feel about all MAC lipsticks. It smells like vanilla, and I am sensitive to scents. This is bearable though, since it is not too strong, but I think I still would have liked it without the scent. What are your thoughts about MAC lipsticks?

Gradient Nails

Today is the second day of summer break for me, but it is the first day of summer that I am staying home alone! Since there's no one here to tell me to do anything, I had some time to spend on my nails! Since I have not done this in a while, I decided to do some sponging on my nails. :)
For the base, I used Essie's Borrowed and Blue from their Wedding Collection last year.
For the gradients, I first used Zoya's Charla. After sponging two layers of Charla, I decided to use OPI's I Don't Give a Rotterdam! on the corners of where I place Charla so the colors will even out. Then I topped it with Revlon's Whimsical :)

Do you enjoy sponging? Doing gradient nails? :)

Philosophy Haul

So last week, I did a post about the Philosophy items I spotted at Big Lots. I did not get much. I basically waited to post what I got because I had to go to a few different Big Lots to find the pressed powder blush duos in different colors. What I noticed is if one Big Lots has a duo in one shade, the rest there will be in the same shade, so I had to go to quite a few to get three different ones. Anyway, the color combinations I have gotten for my "You Make Me Blush" duos are:
Hugs/Kisses
Sunny/Bright
Healthy/Happy

I basically had my focus on these, since I don't need anymore eyeshadow palettes. I have quite a lot of them! lol. Anyway, have any of you gotten anything from their Philosophy Sale since this last week? :)

NYC Blushable Creme Stick: Berry New Yorker

Swatches & Review

So yesterday, I decided to drop by Dollar Tree since I heard about NYC's Blushable Creme Sticks being there. Since I have been wanting to try and it has been discontinued, I decided to just drop by and picked up three in Berry New Yorker, Big Apple Blush & South St. Seashell. I have not tried them all yet, but I just tried Berry New Yorker this morning.
Berry New Yorker is a berry-brown-ish color with subtle shimmer in it. When I read reviews for this, many people stated that this was a matte color. When I blended it out, I noticed a bit of shimmer so I was kind of surprised. It is not noticeable, which is good because I am not too big on shimmery blushes. Usually when I use cream blushes, they feel really creamy and sometimes oily, but when I tried to blend this blush out, it blended out smoothly and did not feel super creamy at all. It dried fast after putting it on, but it was still blend-able after a few minutes of it on. When I blended it, it actually felt a bit like powder, which is not bad! I have worn it since this morning on my cheeks and I still see it on my cheeks. It is not as intense as when I first put it on, but it is still lasting me! :)
Overall, I really like this. When I blended the color out, it looked really natural on my cheeks. I think a little goes a long way because just one swipe on your cheeks already gives a lot of product. It's even better that it was only $1! If you are thinking about getting it, I recommend you try to get it soon from your local Dollar Tree because they might not be around for any longer! Anyway, have you guys tried this? Love it? Hate it? Let me know!

Philosophy at Big Lots

Since I heard news about Philosophy being at Big Lots, I have been trying to find them for the past week. Little did I know, the two closet Big Lots to me closed down! I did not find out until I arrived & it said a "for sale" sign on the building :( Anyway, I went to a few away from where I lived and the first few I went to last week did not have any. One of the ones I went to last week only had three items left. I went home and looked them up and I was pretty pissed off people were already selling a bunch of them on eBay for $13+, but oh well, it happens to every deal. I decided to go check out another one today since my boyfriend was giving me a ride (because I do not have a car) and I spotted a TON of them! I was surprised. All their items are $3 each, so if you have a big lots near you, call first & then check it out! Here are the pictures I was able to get of it.
Anyway, have any of you been able to get anything from Big Lots from the brand? Let me know! :)
*Pictures are mine, please do not use.

Lip Butter!

Hello! I know I haven't posted in a while, but it's the last few weeks before school ends. There has been so much work and review for exams, it sucks! I can't wait for summer to come! Anyway, I just wanted to do a quick post for the color I'm using for my lips. It is Revlon's Lip Butter is Raspberry Pie. When I first purchased it, I was expecting it to be more of a sheer color, but boy was I wrong! It is so pigmented that it took a little getting used to since I do not normally wear darker, more pigmented colors. After wearing it from time to time for over a month, I feel a lot more comfortable wearing it out and everything. It is now one of my favorite colors and it glides on so smoothly. Anyway, have any of you tried Revlon's Lip Butters? Which are your favorites? :D

Sleek; Flame Blush Palette

Swatches & Review
This is the Flame palette from Sleek's Blush by 3 palette line. Given the name, this palette contains blushes that are red. Furnace is a bronzed red. I feel that this was one of the less pigmented color in the set, but it is actually not that bad because if it was really pigmented, you can easily put too much on your cheeks when so if you want it to look more intense, you can always layer it. Furnace also has a bit of a shimmer to it, but it's not that noticeable once it is blended out. Bon Fire is a deep, bold matte red. It is like a WOW kind of bright red. I actually really like this color. This is the most pigmented blush out of the three and if you don't apply this color with a light hand, it can easily make you look like you have clown cheeks. Molten is a lighter red with subtle shimmer to it. When it is blended out, it looks like a light red, almost pink. It looks bright in the pan, but it does not look to intense on the cheeks.
Furnace, Bon Fire, Molten
Overall, I like the Flame palette, but not as much as I liked the Pumpkin blush by 3. I am still annoyed at the fact that Sleek is still not responding to my e-mail or twitter messages to them. I don't mean to sound annoying, but it has been over a month and I still have not gotten a response from them about my missing palette! Anyway, the color I liked the most from this palette is Bon Fire. I have never tried any red blushes so I took a leap and ordered this to just try it out. When I first tried Bon Fire, I applied too much and I ended up looking like a doll! It was quite hilarious. I also like that Bon Fire can be used as a nice red eyeshadow. I mean, you can use all the colors as an eyeshadow as well, but Bon Fire looks the best on the eyes and it has not stained so that's is always a plus! What do you think about this palette? Like it? Love it? Let me know! :)
