Orly Miss Conduct

Swatches & Review
Orly Miss Conduct is from their Holiday 2012 Naughty or Nice collection. Normally, I am not too big on Orly's Holiday collections because they are very glittery, but when I saw Miss Conduct, I just had to get it.
Miss Conduct is a berry magenta with a scattered holographic finish. Since it is holographic, it dries into a smooth finish. I originally thought that this would be a glitter holographic, which would have made this gritty, but this is just scattered holographic with no glitter in it!
This is very similar to OPI DS Extravagance (which I have posted a picture of it a few weeks ago), but it is not a deep magenta like Extravagance is. The formula on this was perfect & it applied very easily. If you give it a generous coat, this could be a one-coater, but I used two for my swatches.

Overall, I like this color. It is not pink, but berry! It reminds me of Holiday drinks and since it has a scattered holo finish, it is perfect for the Holidays since the Holidays are usually very colorful and cheery! :) What do you think? Are you a fan of scattered holographics?

China Glaze; Flirty Tankini

Swatches & Review
Flirty Tankini is from China Glaze's Summer 2012 Neon's collection. I have purchased this around the beginning of summer, but I never had to chance to try it and since it is almost the end of summer, I decided to try it on. Flirty Tankini is a soft shimmery pink-coral. It kind of reminds me of Patrick Star, just a bit.
The application for Flirty Tankini was good. It was kind of thick, but easy to work with. It only required one coat, but I used two for the swatches. For the accent, I used Orly's Glowstick, which is from their summer collection. Glowstick is a a lot brighter in person, I love it! Since they are both neons, they both dried to a semi-matte finish. It was not a full-on matte finish, but it was not very glossy either.
Overall, I like how easy it was to apply Flirty Tankini and I like the color, but Flirty Tankini stained! Even though I used two coats of base coat and waited until it was completely dry, Flirty Tankini stained my nails into a bright pink, which was very unflattering. Orly's Glowstick did not stain my nails at all, which was surprising since it was a yellow, I kind of expected it to stain. Glowstick required four coats for me because it was on the sheer side, but taking it off was easier than Flirty Tankini was as well. Although I like Flirty Tankini, I do not like the staining, which may keep me from wearing it as much. I kind of wish I used Glowstick for the rest of my fingers and Flirty Tankini as an accent, but now, I know that I should probably use another color under Firty Tankini to try to prevent it from staining.

Haul

I have never actually posted a haul post on this blog so this will be my first. This is my nail polish haul and they were all purchased within the past two weeks. :)
From left to right: OPI: Wooden Shoe Like to Know. Orly: You're Blushing, Faint of Heart & Nite Owl. Revlon: Whimsical.

Layla: Coral Glam, Retro Pink, Flash Black & Mermaid Spell

Flash Black: Look at the holographic-ness of it!

Out of everything, I was most excited for the Layla's. The Layla's are the first nail polish I have ever spent so much on. They retail for $15.50 each, but I'm a sucker for holographics and I did not want to miss out on these. They are currently on Aveyou.com and I believe there is a 20% off coupon for it so it brings the price from $15.50 each to about $12.60 each! Anyway, swatches to come soon for some! :)
Coupon code for AveYou: ALLCHIC

Anyway, is there any specific nail polishes that you just love? Any finishes, such as holographic, mattes, shatter, etc. Let me know! :)

Essie; Shine of the Times

Swatches and ReviewLooks orange-ish here, doesn't it?

It's a galaxy on my nails! :D

Can you spot some green?

Yesterday, my boyfriend bought me Essie's Shine of the Times top coat from the Luxeffects collection and I couldn't help but just take of last week nail polish & try it on! Since I'm still going through my untried polishes, I went to find one of the darker ones & I ended up wearing Orly's La Playa, which is a deep dark navy blue color.

Essie's Shine of the Times is gorgeous on La Playa! I actually tried it on Designer... De Better! but it didn't show up at all. It just made the polish look like there were more goldish bronze flecks in there. The application of Orly's La Playa was great, it only required two coats for opacity & I just left it at two coats since I was going to use Shine of the Times over it anyway. Shine of the Times is a thick top coat so it only required one coat for the effects to show on it. Although it was thick, it applied nicely and evenly so there was no goopey-ness left on the nail afterward.
The most dominant color from the topcoat is orange er.. red-orange and there is a green duochrome to it, which I am amazed by (I am easily amazed) & from time to time, you can see a hint of purple. I love it! With La Playa, it looks like a blue stone that has been underwater for years, doesn't it? Haha :) Own it? Love it?

*Only one coat of Essie's Shine of the Times have been used in the photos & the photos are mine.
