Maybelline Fit Me! Shine-Free Foundation Stick: 230

Swatches & Review

Since I heard that Maybelline came out with new stick foundations, I have been curious about it because I have never tried stick foundations before. I was able to find some at my local CVS yesterday so I purchased it & immediately had to try it. I purchased the foundation in the shades: 220 Natural Beige, and 230 Natural Buff. For the past two days, I have used 230 because it seems to fit me a bit more for summer.

The Maybelline Fit Me! Foundation stick is packaged in a plastic black tube with a clear cap.

The outer shade is supposed to be a gel-like formula for the foundation color, while the center of it should be an anti-shine gel.

The left side is me without any makeup, and the right is with Maybelline's Fit Me foundation stick.
As you can tell, without makeup or anything, I have acne scars and redness around my cheeks (I never actually had those problems until the last year and a half) so I have been looking for foundations to even my skintone without making me look cakey. With the foundation, the redness is pretty much covered up, and it covers the slight acne scars, but you are still able to see some of the bigger acne scars. The coverage of the stick foundation is light to medium, but it is definitely not full coverage. This foundation does not contain SPF, so it is important to use sunblock along with this foundation.

What I like about this foundation is that it does not really have a very strong scent. The foundation applied lightly and it does not make the skin feel heavy at all. It actually dried into a semi-matte finish, so I did not look very shiny and it did not feel greasy like how liquid foundations sometimes make me feel after applying. It was easy to blend with both hands and brush. The only downside to it was that I did not like that it makes the dry patches on my face a lot more noticeable. I found that it stayed on pretty well throughout the day until I removed it, but after about four hours, my face was a bit shiny so I had to blot it down a bit.

Overall, I think that this foundation is worth a try because it is convenient to take on the go. When you twist the foundation all the way up, the amount of foundation looks like it is very little, but since it is like a gel, a little goes a long way so I think it would last like a normal bottle of foundation would, but in a stick form.

The Maybelline Fit Me! Shine-Free Foundation Stick retails for $6.99 at Target & Walmart (Online & In-Stores) & drugstores (Rite-Aid, Walgreens, &CVS) for $8.99 - $9.99.

What do you think about stick foundations? Are you thinking about trying Maybelline's Stick Foundation?

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation: Medium Beige

Swatches & Review

When I heard about Revlon's new Nearly Naked foundation, I decided to look for it to try it. For a while now, I have been using Urban Decay's Naked Skin Foundation and I am almost out of it. Since hearing about Revlon's new foundation, I decided to try it because it is a lot more affordable than Urban Decay's ($9.99 vs $38). I went to about three drugstores and finally found it at the third one, except the display was so high, I had to find someone to help me look for the shade I wanted.
Before looking for it, I went online and looked up my match. The online match matched me as Medium Beige, which is the color I purchased.
On the left, I have no foundation on. On the right, it is with Revlon's Nearly Naked Foundation.

Without the foundation, you can see the redness and some acne scars on my cheeks. The foundation covers up the redness and some acne scars well. The coverage of this is not full-coverage, but a sheer coverage that is build-able.
Along with the foundation, I also purchased their Nearly Naked Pressed Powder in Medium.
The powder matched well with the foundation and my skin, but I felt like it looked a bit cakey on the face after applying it (which is what normally happens with pressed powder for me). With the pressed powder, it shows some of the dry patches on my skin, so I could definitely do without the pressed powder.

Overall, I like the foundation. It is lightweight, but like Urban Decay's Naked Skin foundation, it is not full-coverage so if you are looking for that, this is not for you. This also has SPF 20, which is also a plus because Urban Decay's Naked Skin foundation does not have any SPF in it at all. I feel that Medium Beige is a bit light for me so if I were to purchase this again, I would go with Warm Beige. The powder was okay, but not needed for me since I prefer to use Urban Decay's All-Nighter spray to set my makeup. Both the Nearly Naked Foundation and Pressed Powder retail for $9.99 each and I purchased mine at Rite Aid.
This is with some blush and bronzer on so my face would not look as pale as it did with only foundation & powder.

What do you think about Revlon's Nearly Naked foundation? Are you thinking about trying it? What do you look for in foundations?

Simple Look

For a while now, I feel like I love using the colors brown and pink as an eyeshadow. My boyfriend always calls me weird because I am not a big fan of pink, yet I have a bunch of pink things (the keyboard cover for my MacBook is pink as well) lol! Now that the sun is slowly going away for fall & into the winter, I should stop using pink, but I really like this!
Eyes: Urban Decay: Woodstock
Urban Decay: Secret Service
theBalm: Mary Lou-Manizer
Bobbi Brown: Gel Liner
Urban Decay: El Dorado 24/7 Pencil Liner (lower lash)
Face: Urban Decay: NAKED Skin Foundation 6.0
Tarte: Amazonian Clay Blush Achiote
Lips: OCC: Memento Lip Tar

I did not curl my lashes or use mascara because my lashes always goes back to being stick straight after a while so I usually skip that step.

What has been your favorite eye combo lately? :)

Lioele Waterdrop Sleeping Pack

This is a video I recorded tonight. I have never recorded any reviewing videos before so I was actually nervous! lol (so I say "like" a lot when I am nervous. I'm going to try to not say it as much my next video :( ). I also should have flipped the video, but I had no idea how to so I should probably look into that. Anyway, this is a review on the Lioele Waterdrop Sleeping Pack. :)

Freeman's Facial Clay Mask

Review

After seeing people posting up how Walmart is selling the small packs for $.34, I decided to go to mine to check it out. A few of my Walmarts did not let me use the coupon on these sample packets, but some others did so I grabbed some from those places. I do not use face mask's much so I picked up two of their Avocado & Oatmeal and their Chocolate & Strawberry one. When I went home, I immediately tried it on (after cleaning my face of course). I thought that this was a one use package and I was surprised with how much product one pack comes with! I kept layering it on my face and I still had a lot in the package left, so I decided to put some on my boyfriend (he initially did not like it).
After putting on the product, we both waited until it dried. It took him about 10 minutes because I had enough to put a thin layer on him and it took me about half an hour because of all those layers! After washing it off (which took a while to get my face all clean and green-free), I felt that my skin was smoother and my pores were dirt free! Usually when I accidentally scratch my nose area, I see all these pores and it is all gross, but after this I did not notice much of them and I was incredibly happy with the results. Of course, it only lasted about a day or two, but for best results I suggest using this about two times a week! Oh & remember my boyfriend initially did not like it? He liked his skin after washing it off because he also felt the results!

Picture:

I'm excited to try the Chocolate & Strawberry one now! & I think if I have some left, I can actually save it for the day after because it does not dry in the package. Just seal it tightly so bacteria & all that nasty stuff does not get in over the night. Have any of you tried it? Like it? Let me know!
